The fourth semester of the study programme ESWOCHY takes place in ISCTE-IUL and starts with one-day introductory activities. Followed by 1 week of intensive workshop as a preparation for the Master Thesis Project. Such workshops shall include: Master thesis peer review, data presentation, academic discussion with Master Thesis supervisors, research methodology with teachers and other students. The Student Master defence will be organized online at a given time in all universities.

The ISCTE – University Institute of Lisbon was founded in 1972 as one of Portugal’s first modern universities, with the central aim of studying labor and social dynamics in a rapidly changing world. Since its establishment, the university has expanded its disciplinary reach into four schools: ISCTE Business School, the School of Sociology and Public Policy, the School of Technology and Architecture and the School of Social Sciences and Humanities.

In the panorama of public higher education in Portugal, ISCTE is the only specialized university institute, offering today 17 undergraduate courses, welcoming about 4,500 students, and more than 50 postgraduate, master’s and doctoral programmers. The education at ISCTE-IUL is based on the European Credit Accumulation and Transfer System (ECTS) credits and grading scale to facilitate the transfer of credits and marks after the examination sessions.

The mission of ISCTE is to create and convey scientific knowledge according to the best international standards, training highly skilled professionals, mainly at the postgraduate level, in the areas of management, information technology and architecture, social sciences and public policy, for the advancement of society.
